Pheim Unit Trusts Berhad launched in January 2002 — and within its very first full calendar year, all three of its inaugural unit trust funds won both the Edge-Lipper and Star/S&P Fund Awards. That early validation set the tone for two decades of consistent recognition that followed.

Dana Makmur Pheim (DMP) in particular has become one of the most decorated funds in Malaysian history, earning the Asia Asset Management "Best of Best Country Malaysia" award seven years in succession from 2018 to 2024.

Dana Makmur Pheim (DMP) won "Best of Best Country (Malaysia)" for the 7th consecutive year (Asia Asset Management). Pheim Asia Ex-Japan (PAXJ) won the 2024 LSEG Lipper Fund Award for Best Equity Asia Pacific ex-Japan (5-year) — its 4th consecutive year winning that category.

DMP won 3 Refinitiv Lipper Awards (Malaysia Islamic, Malaysia Provident, Global Islamic — all 10-year). DMP ranked #1 by Refinitiv Lipper for 10-, 15- and 20-year consecutive periods. DMP won the 7th consecutive 10-year Lipper Award across all three categories (Malaysia Islamic, Malaysia Provident, Global Islamic). PAXJ won both the 3-year and 5-year Lipper Awards for the 2nd consecutive year. DMP also claimed "Best of Best Malaysia 2022" — its 5th consecutive win. Dr. Tan Chong Koay was conferred the ASEAN Distinguished Entrepreneur Lifetime Achievement Award.

PAXJ Sweeps All Three Lipper Periods; PECBF Wins 10-Year Award
PAXJ won Lipper Awards for the 3-year, 5-year and 10-year periods — a full sweep. PECBF won the Lipper 10-year Award. Pheim Malaysia was recognised by CFA Institute as one of the first two firms in Malaysia to claim compliance with the Asset Manager Code of Professional Conduct. Pheim Malaysia was also ranked No. 1 by EPF for Best 3-Year ROI Domestic Equity Portfolio Manager. DMP won its triple Lipper (3-year, 5-year, 10-year).

Pheim launched the Pheim Asia Ex-Japan Fund and its Islamic version — the first absolute-benchmark fund in Malaysia investing in Asia ex-Japan equities. Dr. Tan Chong Koay was named "Southeast Asia's Small-Cap King" by Bloomberg in recognition of exceptional small-cap investment performance.

Pheim Unit Trusts Berhad Launches — PECBF, DMP & PIF Debut
Pheim Unit Trusts Berhad launched operations in January 2002, bringing three flagship unit trust funds to market: the Pheim Emerging Companies Balanced Fund (PECBF), Dana Makmur Pheim (DMP), and the Pheim Income Fund (PIF). The launch marked Pheim's entry into Malaysia's retail fund management landscape after years of institutional fund management.
